I’m enthusiastic and friendly: a fun and patient teacher, whose love for music is at the heart of what I do. I have a flexible teaching style, where lessons are always tailored to the needs of each individual. I like to encourage playing together as much as possible, so as to share in the creative process from the very beginning.

“Rebecca is a wonderful teacher. She can teach with the perfect combination of motivation, fun and technique so that our kids made very good progress and developed their musical skills without even recognising the ‘work’ behind it. … I can warmly recommend Rebecca.”
“Rebecca was an outstanding teacher for my daughter, age 9. Under Rebecca’s tuition she successfully transitioned from Suzuki violin learning to reading music. She thoroughly enjoyed her lessons — Rebecca is all round a friendly and supportive teacher, and knows just how to get the best out of her pupils.”
“Lessons are very interesting. Rebecca always listens and observes what I’m doing. She gives me feedback and corrects my mistakes, and teaches me a lot of basic techniques that build up a good foundation. She breaks down a complicated skill into smaller tasks which are easy to manage and secure. That makes violin playing more enjoyable, and in the long term this helps me to achieve my goals. Rebecca demonstrates passionate teaching methods and creates tailored tips to guide me over the years. The overall experience for me is that playing the violin becomes a pleasure. I wish I can learn more from her.”
“I started the viola as an adult beginner and always really enjoyed my lessons with Rebecca. She is a fantastic musician who was also very good at meeting me at my own, very basic level. She was patient, thoughtful, encouraging, and able to adapt to what I needed. The lessons were fun, and I felt that I made good progress.”
Frequently Asked Questions
No, but I would always encourage any other forms of music-making and study.
In particular, a lot of my pupils find that singing, and playing the piano help to complement their studies on the violin or viola.
I also teach the piano and music theory.
Lesson duration will vary, depending on what’s right for you.
Beginners and young children may suit 30 or 45 minute lessons; a 60 minute lesson would be recommended for more experienced players.
Lessons will typically be weekly or fortnightly.
